![]() On June 5 this year, Momo returned to our screens with a redesigned game for the Stay and Play at Home series that was introduced during worldwide coronavirus lockdowns. In the Doodle, Momo's friends include a dog, a frog, a pumpkin, and an owl. The game was inspired by Google Doodler Juliana Chen's black cat named Momo. The spooky cat appeared on the homepage with its wand raised, ready to go head to head with evil ghosts. Momo the Cat was first introduced as a Google Doodle for Halloween in 2016. ![]() The fourth and final test is The Abyss, where Momo must face the Anglerfish, which uses its esca, or modified fin ray that can illuminate in the dark waters because of bacteria, to lure in its prey. It has no teeth and doesn't hunt prey, instead living off small, organic material that falls to the ocean bottom known as "marine snow." Level two takes the players deeper into the sea to the Twilight Zone, where Momo encounters an aquatic foe known as Boops, who has "large, buggy eyes", as Google describes.īy level three, players have reached, the Midnight Zone where Momo must fight the Vampire Squid. ![]() The cat must fight off ghosts and jellyfish to help out new friends. It features the Immortal Jellyfish, which can revert back to the polyp stage when it nears death, starting its life cycle all over again. The first level is called the sunlight stage, being the closest to the ocean's surface, Google's blog about the game says. The Doodle is available to play in countries across the world, including the U.S., UK, Chile, Russia, Australia, Thailand and Scandinavia among others. Every time a fish touches Momo, she loses a heart and the game ends if they're all lost.īut the good news is, players can earn back hearts by picking up other shapes that may be of value on the way. Players start with five lifelines, marked by hearts in the top left-hand corner of the screen. The game has four levels which get progressively harder as Momo dives deeper into the ocean.
